Dryer Not Heating
The most common dryer complaint we receive. On gas dryers, the usual causes are a failed igniter, faulty gas valve coils, or a blown thermal fuse. On electric dryers, a burned-out heating element or tripped thermal cutoff is almost always responsible.
Dryer Not Starting
When a dryer doesn't respond at all, the most common causes are a broken door switch, a blown thermal fuse, a failed start switch, or a control board issue. Each of these is diagnosed and resolved on the first visit.
Dryer Taking Too Long to Dry Clothes
Multiple cycles to dry one load usually means a restricted dryer vent, a partially failed heating element, or a worn drum seal that allows heated air to escape. We test vent airflow on every service call because this is one of the most overlooked causes of poor dryer performance.
Dryer Making Loud Noises
Squealing, thumping, or grinding sounds are almost always caused by worn drum support rollers, a fraying drum belt, or a worn idler pulley. These mechanical wear parts are typically replaced as a set.
Dryer Overheating or Shutting Off Mid-Cycle
A dryer that gets excessively hot or shuts off before the cycle ends has a thermal protection issue — usually a clogged vent, a failing cycling thermostat, or a thermal fuse that is on the verge of failing.
Dryer Drum Not Turning
When the motor runs but the drum doesn't spin, the drive belt has almost certainly snapped. This is one of the most straightforward dryer repairs we handle and is completed on the first visit in every case.
Dryer Making Burning Smell
A burning smell from a dryer should be addressed the same day. It almost always indicates lint buildup inside the vent system or on the heating element, a failing belt beginning to melt, or a motor running under excessive load.
Gas Dryer Pilot or Ignition Issues
Gas dryers that cycle on and off without sustaining heat typically have a weak or failed igniter, a faulty flame sensor, or gas valve coils that are beginning to fail. We carry igniters and valve coil kits for all major gas dryer brands.
