What Bosch Problems Do We See Most Often?

Bosch Dishwasher Not Drying Dishes

This is the most common Bosch call we get — and in most cases, nothing is actually broken. Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying system rather than a heated drying element. Instead of blasting heat to dry dishes, the stainless steel interior cools faster than the dishes, causing moisture to condense on the walls and drain away. It's more energy efficient but leaves dishes noticeably wetter than American brands with heating elements.

What actually helps: use rinse aid consistently — Bosch's condensation drying system depends on it. Open the door slightly at the end of the cycle to let steam escape. Use the Auto or Sanitize cycle rather than Eco for better drying results. If dishes are still unacceptably wet after all of this, the rinse aid dispenser may be clogged or failed.

E15 means the anti-flood system has detected water in the base of the dishwasher. A small amount of water triggers a float switch at the bottom that cuts off the wash cycle as a safety measure. This is often caused by using too much detergent — excess suds overflow into the base without necessarily meaning a serious leak. Tilting the dishwasher slightly backward with the door open can drain the base and reset the float. If the code returns, the door seal or a hose connection needs inspection.

E24 indicates a drain problem. Start with the filter at the bottom of the tub — clean it monthly. Check the drain hose for kinks under the sink. If a garbage disposal was recently installed, confirm the knockout plug in the disposal inlet was removed — a very common installation oversight that blocks dishwasher drainage completely. If all of these check out and the code persists, the drain pump needs professional testing.

Bosch Oven Not Heating

Bosch ovens most commonly show heating issues from a failed temperature sensor or a faulty heating element. Bosch uses precise temperature calibration, so an oven that's 25–50°F off from the set temperature is often a sensor issue rather than a complete element failure. Error code E09 indicates a heating element failure. We test both the element and the sensor on every Bosch oven call before recommending a repair.

Bosch Washing Machine Vibrating Excessively

Bosch front-load washers are known for being exceptionally quiet — so when they start vibrating, it's noticeable. The most common cause is shipping bolts that were never removed during installation. On Bosch washers there are typically four shipping bolts at the rear that must be removed before first use. If the machine has been used without removing them, the drum is essentially locked in place and the machine vibrates violently during spin. Check the back of the machine for remaining bolts before assuming a mechanical failure.
