Gas Burner Not Igniting
The most frequent cooktop call we receive. Caused by a dirty or cracked igniter, a blockage in the burner cap orifice, moisture in the igniter assembly, or a faulty igniter switch. We clean, test, and replace components as needed.
Gas Burner Clicking Continuously
Continuous clicking when the burner is off is caused by moisture inside the igniter assembly — common after a boilover or in humid New Jersey weather. If the clicking doesn't stop after the unit fully dries, the igniter module or switch needs replacement.
Electric Burner or Coil Not Heating
A coil element that produces no heat has either burned out or has a failed receptacle block beneath it. Both parts are carried on every truck and replaced on the first visit.
Glass Cooktop Surface Element Not Working
When one zone on a ceramic glass cooktop stops heating, the radiant element or the surface element switch for that zone has failed. We replace the specific element or switch rather than the full cooktop in most cases.
Induction Zone Not Responding or Showing Error
An induction zone that doesn't respond or throws an error code has typically experienced an induction coil failure or a zone-specific control board issue. We diagnose and repair induction cooktops across all major brands.
Gas Burner Flame Uneven or Too Weak
Uneven or weak flame from a gas burner usually points to a blocked gas orifice, a failing burner valve, or an issue with gas pressure to that burner. We clean the burner assembly thoroughly and replace valves that have deteriorated.
Cooktop Control Knob or Touch Panel Not Responding
Knobs that spin without engaging and touch panels that don't register input are among the more common cooktop failures we see. Knob failures are usually a valve or switch issue behind the panel, while unresponsive touch controls typically indicate a control board problem.
Cracked or Damaged Glass Surface
A crack in the glass cooktop surface is a safety concern and should be addressed before the cooktop is used again. We assess whether the glass can be replaced independently or whether a full unit replacement makes more sense given the model and age.
